CuriOdyssey

CuriOdyssey Also within the Coyote Point Recreation Area (the same location as our last badge- Magic Mountain Playground) is a fun science center and zoo called CuriOdyssey. We had been looking for a zoo-type experience with more interactive elements to it, and CuriOdyssey rose to the top of our list. Tickets are very affordable ($15.95 for adults, $12.95 for children) and parking is $6. We recommend to make a day out of it and visit the Magic Mountain Playground on the same day so that you only have to pay the $6 parking fee one time.

We started in the zoo area and got to see animals like owls, bobcats, raccoons, and salamanders. My favorite was the river otter- I could watch him all day! He was so curious and sweet. My daughter loved waving at the owl and loved looking at the bobcats that were curled up and sleeping next to each other.

We loved this little cave where we could look at the river otter!

Also outside were some cool exhibits. Our favorite by far was the Sun Image Dome, which was a domed structure that had holes poked in it to let light in. At the top of the dome was a crystal that reflected rainbows around the inside. My daughter also played for a good amount of time at the Curving Creeks exhibit, which is basically a big container filled with sand and water, and you have to help the water flow to the bottom. There were always a bunch of kids hovering around this area, so it's very popular.

We love the Sun Image Dome!

Inside the science area, which is indoors, we were able to explore everything that the museum had to offer. There was a fun "Kinetic Coaster" which allowed kids to turn a wheel and send balls down a track. While we were there, they had a few exhibits that had to do with reflections and patterns. We spent a lot of time at the light table, and at the soundwave dancers exhibit. We finished up our time in the area where kids can put scarves in tubes and they fly in the air (there's no other way of describing that lol). They have a new exhibit coming on April 11th called Click, Clack, Clunk that looks really fun!

The light table provided tons of entertainment

Have you ever been to CuriOdyssey? This was our first time and we LOVED it! Make sure to tag us in any adventures you go on with Troop Bay Area! #troopbayarea
