Magic Mountain Playground

Magic Mountain Playground

The Magic Mountain Playground is located in the Coyote Point Recreation Area in San Mateo. We did a two for one trip and visited this playground and CuriOdyssey on the same day so that we only had to pay for parking one time (parking was $6 when we went). Our CuriOdyssey badge is coming on Wednesday, so keep an eye out for that one!

Magic Mountain Playground is SO beautiful!

What a playground! Magic Mountain has something for everyone. From a younger kid area geared for kids ages 2-5 to a giant play structure that includes a LOOOOONG slide, there is always something to do. We went on a busy Saturday, and there was plenty of space to run and play, even with so many people.

The smaller play area has multiple slides, a balance beam, swings, spring riders, and plenty of things to climb on. It's technically gated, but when we were there the gate to the larger playground was propped open, so just keep that in mind if you're letting your child roam.

The smaller area is so well designed!

The large playground has everything that the smaller one has, but on a larger scale. It also has things like tire swings and monkey bars. The highlight of this side is the giant slide! I think that my daughter must have gone down at least 25 times while we were there- she loved it. We loved the castle theme of this playground, and the dragon heads coming out of the ground that kids can climb on/in.

The star of the playground!

One tip that I would recommend is to dress your child in something very identifiable if you are allowing them to go on the large playground without you right next to them. I had a hard time picking my daughter out of the crowd, and it would have been so much easier to see her if I had dressed her in bright colors or in her rainbow sweater.

All smiles at Magic Mountain!
